Fortunately we have the expertise to walk you through some unfamiliar territory and try to present some options.

For example, some clients want a multi colored print for an otherwise small order. By using special effects known as halftones, we may be able to recreate your design in a single color with many different variations of the same color. Halftones are best described by suggesting the client check the local newspaper and search for a photo image. Under a magnifying glass, one can detect the image is created by using different sized dots. These dots enhance the picture and make it possible to determine a persons' likeliness using only one color ink.

Although halftones are cost effective in reducing a multicolored image to a single color, there is a downside to using a halftone image. In order to create this effect, we are reduced to a process known as imagesetting. The end result is a high quality, sophisticated film that resembles the old fashioned Kodak film negative. We suggest avoiding shadows in certain prints where we are only starting out with one color. A halftone effect is sometimes required by the artist and tends to cost more money for the film used in the process.

We can present you with anything the artist dreams up. However, we have yet to meet the artist who is paying for these extra charges himself.
